Are you a manly man? Do you feel that General Patton's big problem was that he wasn't tough enough? Do you think Heavyweight Champ Joe Louis would have been a better boxer if he didn't punch like a girl? If you think Mickey Spillane stories are amusing and all, but you wish they were a bit grittier, well we've got the manliest, toughest, boldest stories around! High Adventure! Where tough men fight, women swoon, and men . . . well, they fight again. The stories are told by members of the "High Adventure Society." The society had an absolute "no cooties allowed" policy, that's how tough they were. We're not kidding, the tagline for the program is: stories of "hard action, hard men, and smooth women!"
High Adventure aired on the Mutual in 1947. It was designed to be a competitor to the more successful Escape program. The main writer/director was Robert Monroe, the announcer was Carl Caruso, and the music was by Sylvan Levin - tough men all.
