30 minute drama episodes
Like a clock ticking down, this radio program’s days were numbered to only two years, from 1946 to 1948. Each episode featured a different cast and characters, but all of the stories dealt with time, usually time running out. The series was directed by William Spier with a cast that included Jeanette Nolan, Cathy Lewis and Elliott Lewis.
Storylines included such themes as a man’s past can coming back to haunt him at just the wrong time, or a safe cracker needs to open a safe before he suffocates, or a man is in a run for his life. Gene Kirby narrated the show, as father time: saying such witty things as "In England they call me Ben, and I have a large and extremely show flat in Westminster Tower."
