Curtain Time had two runs in radio. It first aired from Chicago for a season on Mutual from 1938 to 1939. Then a more successful run on ABC from 1946 to 1950. The show copied the success of the program “First Nighter”, trying to recreate the atmosphere of going to the theater for a play, telling listeners that every seat in the house was full. The show featured romantic dramas. In its earlier run a young Arch Oboler was one of the writers. The 1946-1950 series starred Harry Elders as the regular leading man and Beverly Younger as the leading lady.
